Futures-Specific Considerations
Margin Modes
| Mode | Description | Risk |
|---|---|---|
| Isolated | Margin limited to position | Lose only position margin |
| Cross | Entire balance as margin | Lose entire balance possible |
Leverage Selection
| Leverage | Margin Required | Liquidation Distance |
|---|---|---|
| 1x | 100% | Very far |
| 5x | 20% | Moderate |
| 10x | 10% | Close |
| 20x | 5% | Very close |
| 50x+ | Less than 2% | Extremely close |
Understanding Liquidation
Long position liquidation example:
Entry Price: $50,000
Leverage: 10x
Margin: $5,000
Position Value: $50,000
Approximate Liquidation: $45,000 (10% drop)
Warning: With higher leverage, small price movements can liquidate your position.
Spot Trading Considerations
No Leverage
Spot trading is 1:1 - you buy actual crypto.
No Liquidation
You own the asset; there's no liquidation risk (but value can go to zero).
Transfer Requirements
Ensure funds are in Spot wallet, not Futures.
Quick Actions
